Job description

Pay Range: $28 - $35 / 30-40 hours per week

Louisville East Post Acute is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to assist PTs with resident treatments across our Pathways TBI, Sub-acute Rehab, and LTC Units. The PTA is responsible for observing regulations and working under the supervision of the Director of Therapy to ensure high-quality resident care.

Essential Job Duties

• Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Record treatment and progress notes as per PT Board standards.
• Assist in maintaining departmental cleanliness and organization.
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas.
• Follow physician treatment plans.
• Support nursing staff with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate patient progress to team members.
• Participate in staff training sessions.
• Record treatment changes according to policies.
• Instruct families and nursing staff on maintenance and caregiver training for discharge.
• Report equipment issues for maintenance.
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state.
• Proficient in computer programs like Casamba and PointClickCare.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and policy documents.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing. Lifting over 20 pounds may be necessary. The work environment is typically low to moderate noise, with accommodations available for disabilities.
