Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, administers physical therapy treatments to patients, working under the direction of and as an assistant to the physical therapist in charge of that patient.
• Provide direct patient care specific to each age group, from infants to geriatrics, in accordance with department protocol.

Schedule

• M – F; 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

General Requirements

• Must be able to function as a Physical Therapist Assistant in all commonly practiced aspects of patient care and treatment appropriate for the assigned age group.
• Must be able to give clear instructions to individuals and groups ranging from infant to geriatric.
• Must be able to plan day-to-day activities and work independently.
• Must be able to put patients at ease and make them comfortable.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate ability to work effectively with hospital staff and guests.

Education

• Associate degree as Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
• Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
