The emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with board certified physicians and advanced level practitioners who are well-trained to treat emergency needs. MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is certified as a Level IV Trauma Center by the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Job Description

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Physical Therapist Assistant.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at MercyOne, you will be Under general supervision, administers physical therapy treatments to patients, working under the direction of and as assistant to the physical therapist in charge of that patient. Possesses the skills necessary to provide direct patient care specific to each age group in accordance with department protocol. The age of the patients served range in age from infants to geriatrics.

Schedule:

  • M – F; 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

General Requirements:

  • Must be able to function as a Physical Therapist Assistant in all commonly practiced aspects of patient care and treatment appropriate for assigned age group.
  • Must be able to give clear instructions to individuals and groups ranging from infant to geriatric.
  • Must be able to plan day-to-day activities and work independently.
  • Must be able to put patients at ease and make them comfortable.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate ability to effectively work with other hospital employees and guests.

Education:

  • Associate degree as Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
