Located in Torrington, Wyoming, our 25‑bed critical access hospital serves residents of southeast Wyoming and neighboring Nebraska communities. This position supports a tight‑knit outpatient and rehabilitation team in a rural setting.

Position Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant will administer physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, in accordance with physician referral, state and local standards, and department policies. The role requires clinical competence, knowledge of patient care, and the ability to adapt treatment plans to meet each patient’s needs.

Schedule: Full‑time. 3‑12 shift Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑4:00 pm with rotating Sundays (1 every 6 weeks).

CORE FUNCTIONS
  1. Administer physical therapy treatment per the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist, implementing individualized plans that consider the patient’s physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, and age‑specific needs. Monitor effectiveness and collaborate with the therapist to modify the plan as needed.
  2. Demonstrate scope of practice and maintain accurate documentation, communicating significant changes in patient function or tolerance to the supervising therapist.
  3. Document all aspects of care to department and regulatory standards, completing records within established time frames and reflecting comprehensive assessment of progress.
  4. Communicate patient information and treatment results to physicians, nurses, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team in a clear and timely manner, defending treatment rationale with evidence‑based practices.
  5. Show adaptability in caseload, scheduling, and staffing shifts; take initiative to assist in other care areas and accept responsibility for all patient needs.
  6. Supervise and delegate personnel safely and cost‑effectively, including Therapy Technicians and PTA students, in compliance with policy and regulatory requirements. Participate in training and orientation of new staff.
  7. Participate in departmental and facility process improvement and meet productivity standards.
  8. Interact with all staff levels, other health care institutions, community providers, and agencies concerning patient care; report to physician offices as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduated from an APTA‑accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Current PT‑Assistant license required where practice is required; BLS certification required.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency, experience, training, and education during the interview process.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Therapy Assistant.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
