The Pennant Group, Inc. in Sheboygan, WI is seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to provide PTA services under the direction of a licensed physical therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care.

The PTA will help patients relieve pain, restore or improve function, and participate in home care team activities, while maintaining accurate documentation and following facility protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Wisconsin.
• Graduated from a CAPTE-approved PTA program and passed the national examination.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must have transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of the physical therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care.
• Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
• Utilizes physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Observes and reports to the physical therapist and organization personnel the patient’s reaction to treatment and changes in condition.
• Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
• Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, incorporated into the patient’s clinical record.
• Participates in Organization Home Care Team Members meetings and Organization in-service Education Program.

Participates in Organization Home Care Team Members meetings andOrganization in-service Education Program.JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)A PT assistant must be licensed in State of WisconsinMust have graduated from a PT assistant program approved by CAPTE and have passed a national examination for PT assistants. Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.The ability to drive and/or have access to transportation for agency related travel (e.g. community partners, patients, etc.) is an essential function of the job.
