Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Bath, New York is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join a skilled nursing facility team. You will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and contribute to rehabilitation plans across geriatric residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting preferred; new graduates with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with various techniques, like stretching and massage; assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.
