Job summary

Care New England Health System in Warwick, RI, seeks a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans and reporting patient responses. You will train patients in exercises and use modalities as directed, while documenting progress for the care team.

The PTA will assist with mobility and functional tasks, educate patients and families, and help ensure continuity of care across the treatment plan.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with exercises and functional tasks as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Implement treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, flexibility, and function.
• Report any changes in patient response to the Physical Therapist and Medical Provider.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and progress notes.
• Educate patients and families on home exercises and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with the supervising PT to adjust the plan of care as needed.
