Job summary

River Grove Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our in-house therapy program. You will work under a licensed physical therapist to deliver individualized treatment, help residents improve strength and mobility, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support quality care.

You'll perform tasks per plan of care, participate in supervision of rehab techs, and engage in ongoing professional development in a happy, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Effective clinical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Supervise PTAs and Rehab Techs as directed.
• Knowledge of state practice act guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Director of Rehabilitation and Physical Therapist.
• Assist in screening and providing input to initial evaluations as appropriate.
• Implement treatment per the established plan of care.
• Comply with documentation and billing guidelines.
• Establish and maintain effective patient-centered interactions.
• Provide direct supervision to rehabilitation technicians.
• Integrate physical therapy services into facility plans.
• Participate in utilization review, case management, and meetings.
• Maintain professional relationships with healthcare staff.
• Refer to other rehabilitation team members as needed.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate with supervising therapist.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, privacy and ethics policies.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development.
