Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking a physical therapist assistant (PTA) to implement an individualized program for patients with acute and chronic conditions, under supervision of a physical therapist. You will help maximize quality of life, and collaborate with other health professionals and staff across the care team.

The role involves following the plan of care, performing PTA procedures, assessing patient needs, and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree PTA (CAPTE) required.
• 1 year PTA experience preferred.
• Licensed PTA in Virginia upon hire; CPR/BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follows plan of care and performs PTA procedures.
• Performs services planned, delegated and supervised by the Therapist.
• Assesses patients' needs and status and interprets information.
• Aids in training and support of team members, volunteers and students.
• Records patients' progress and reports results to the physical therapist.
• Treats patients through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other interventions.
• Provides patient education on interventions.
