Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to work under supervision of a Physical Therapist in the rehabilitation department at our Worcester campus. The PTA will assist with patient treatments, educate patients and families, and help with discharge planning as part of a collaborative care team.

The role requires an accredited PTA degree, current MA PTA license, and successful board exam completion.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited PTA program.
• Current license to practice Physical Therapy in Massachusetts.
• Successful completion of PTA board examination.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual rehab treatments under supervision.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and wellness strategies.
• Assist discharge planning and communicate treatment changes.
• Document care and assist with therapy billing and records.
• Maintain a safe, orderly work environment and inventory as needed.
