Job summary

Mercy in Oklahoma seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support our Physical Therapist in delivering patient-focused care. You will assist with therapeutic procedures, monitor responses to treatment, and adjust interventions within the plan set by the supervising PT, ensuring safe, effective care for diverse patient populations.

You will document progress notes, communicate with patients and families, supervise aides as directed, and help coordinate the department’s workload.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree.
• Licensure: Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Board of Physical Therapy in the applicable State of practice.
• Experience: Physical Therapist Assistant may be entry-level.
• Certifications: Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• The Physical Therapist Assistant assists the Physical Therapist in the provision of physical therapy and may modify procedures as directed.
• Documents patient progress notes and reports patient status changes within the established plan.
• Provides technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinates department workload.
• Addresses age-specific needs and ensures safety and patient dignity during therapy.
