Job summary

Avera St Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, SD seeks a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to moving health forward. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist and support our mission of caring for patients and families.

The role emphasizes timely, effective treatments, accurate documentation, and collaboration with therapists to deliver quality care.

Qualifications

• Active license as Physical Therapy Assistant in the practicing state.
• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited PTA program (preferred).
• Less than 1 year related experience and/or training (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Follow the PT plan of care and physician orders to provide treatments.
• Communicate with the supervising therapist to ensure effective treatment.
• Document patient care progress notes and scheduling/paperwork.
• Charge for treatments under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist with billing, documentation, and file management as needed.
• Assist with clinical education of physical therapist assistant students.
• Follow ethics and standards as defined by Avera policy.
• Provide timely and efficient treatments in accordance with the PT plan of care.
