Job summary

Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus in Lafayette, Indiana is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant I to work under the Department Director and supervising Physical Therapist to deliver prescribed treatments. You will implement the plan of care to restore and enhance performance and will handle documentation and quality improvement per policy.

The role emphasizes patient education, coordination with the care team, and supervising Rehab Techs while ensuring compliance with the Physical Therapy

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree accredited PTA program.
• 1 year PTA experience preferred.
• PTA licensure required (state licensing board) and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy treatment and follow-up services including discharge planning.
• Train and educate patients, family members and others to ensure understanding of treatment plan and goals.
• Provide physical therapy including selection and use of assistive equipment.
• Report patient progress and collaborate with evaluating therapist to implement the therapy plan of care.
• Document and submit patient reports and charges within the established timeframe.
• Coordinate care and collaborate with other healthcare personnel or outside agencies as needed.
• Supervise Rehab Techs.

The Physical Therapy Assistant I is responsible to the Department Director and supervising Physical Therapist to provide treatment to the patient prescribed by the physician within the guidelines of the Physical Therapy Practice Act and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position implements the plan of care to restore and enhance performance. This position also performs documentation and quality improvement as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
