Job summary

Total Care Therapy is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team in Northwest Ohio. You will work with a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, strength, and independence in assisted living and independent living settings.

This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, with weekends available but not required.

Qualifications

• Must hold Current State PTA License.
• CPR/BLS Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Geriatrics/home health/assisted living experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Deliver patient-centered exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfers, and mobility interventions.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
• Complete documentation and treatment notes in the EMR.
• Educate residents and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, and safety.
• Collaborate with the PT and interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain a full caseload with compassionate, high-quality therapy services.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that helps residents improve mobility, increase strength, restore function, and maintain their independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and according to the established plan of care.
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and mobility interventions to help residents achieve their functional goals.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately complete documentation and treatment notes using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Educate residents and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, and safety strategies
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Maintain a full-caseload while providing compassionate, high-quality therapy services

Qualifications

• Current State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
• Previous experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required
