Job summary

Associates in Pediatric Therapy (APT) is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join a compassionate team focused on children’s growth and recovery. Under physician orders and in collaboration with the supervising physical therapist, you will treat patients and contribute to individualized plans of care.

You’ll prepare materials, document progress, educate families, and communicate patient status to caregivers and medical staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current, unrestricted license.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Thrives in a team with cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients under physicians orders and supervising therapist.
• Document treatment details, duration, and progress toward goals.
• Follow therapy plans to meet diverse patient needs.
• Prepare materials/equipment and adapt as needed.

What You'll Do

• Under physicians orders and in collaboration with supervising physical therapist, treat patients.
• Assist with preparing detailed documentation of treatment provided, length of treatment and progress toward outcomes identified in plan of care.
• Follow treatment and therapy plans recommended by physical therapist to suit the individual needs of a diverse population of patients including short- and long-term goals.
• Prepares therapy material and/or equipment for use in therapy activities; adapts or modifies instructional materials and/or equipment as determined by patients needs and abilities.
• Help to educate patients, parents, and caregivers.
• Report patient progress and status to appropriate parties including family members, caregiver, or medical professional.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Hold an applicable and current, unrestricted license.
• Excellent communication skills: oral and written.
• An individual who thrives on being part of a team, working alongside other disciplines, as needed.
