Associates in Pediatric Therapy (APT) in Kentucky is seeking a qualified Physical Therapy Assistant to join a caring, clinician- run team. You will work under physicians orders and collaborate with supervising physical therapists to help children reach their goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted license.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients under physicians orders and in collaboration with supervising physical therapist.
• Assist with detailed documentation of treatment, duration, and progress toward plan of care.
• Follow therapy plans to meet the individual needs of a diverse pediatric population.
• Prepare therapy materials and adapt equipment as needed for patients.
• Educate patients, parents, and caregivers on treatment goals and progress.
• Report patient progress to families and relevant medical professionals.

What You'll Do

• Under physicians orders and in collaboration with supervising physical therapist, treat patients.
• Assist with preparing detailed documentation of treatment provided, length of treatment and progress toward outcomes identified in plan of care.
• Follow treatment and therapy plans recommended by physical therapist to suit the individual needs of a diverse population of patients including short- and long-term goals.
• Prepares therapy material and/or equipment for use in therapy activities; adapts or modifies instructional materials and/or equipment as determined by patients needs and abilities.
• Help to educate patients, parents, and caregivers.
• Report patient progress and status to appropriate parties including family members, caregiver, or medical professional.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Hold an applicable and current, unrestricted license.
• Excellent communication skills: oral and written.
• An individual who thrives on being part of a team, working alongside other disciplines, as needed.
