Job summary

Evolving Solution Services in Salinas, CA is seeking a Dynamic Physical Therapy Assistant to join a fast-paced occupational medicine practice.

The PTA will provide therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist, perform assessments, and help patients with exercises and daily living activities in a high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• License/certification required to practice in the relevant state(s).
• Must pass state or National Physical Therapy Exam as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Identify patient care issues to support PT effectiveness.
• Administer prescribed treatment programs for patients.
• Assess patient health through interviews, exams and records.
• Evaluate conditions based on PT evaluations and tests.
• Document patient care in records and charts.
• Assist patients with exercises and daily living activities.
• Guide patients in using devices like crutches or canes.
• Explain regimens, wellness guidance and health maintenance.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment per infection-control policies.
• Monitor trends and report on therapy services versus production goals.

We are looking for a dynamic Physical Therapy Assistant to join our growing occupational medicine practice. This is a very fast paced environment. High Energy, Organized, Highly Pleasant - Personal. Candidate must be well-organized, detail-oriented, motivated, and have excellent communication skills. Punctuality & Strong attendance is a must. Candidate must be able to work under pressure and work well with others. Compensation will be based on experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Physical Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
• Administers treatment programs for patients.
• Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining updating, and studying therapy histories.
• Evaluates abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist’s interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
• Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
• Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
• Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends and monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives.
