Job summary

CHI St. Joseph's Health of Park Rapids, part of CommonSpirit Health, is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in the heart of lake country. This Physical Therapist Assistant role focuses on initial evaluations, care planning, and delivering evidence-based treatments to diverse patient populations.

We emphasize collaborative, patient-centered care and strong communication with the interdisciplinary team. A Minnesota PTA license and PTA program completion are required for this position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program from an accredited institution.
• Physical Therapy Assistant Licensed in the State of Minnesota.
• 1-3 years of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence with clinical skills necessary to provide care appropriately to all the patient groups served by the physical therapy service.
• Provides treatments as included in POC
• Provides instruction in/demonstration of equipment, treatments, disease process, self care and exercises to patients, family, and staff.
• Provides timely and accurate documentation of services provided in the medical record, per policy.
• Communicates with medical, nursing and other Rehab staff
• Staff will strive to provide service to patients or clients by filling our service promise of Kind, Compassionate Care, Every Person, Every Time.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.
Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
