Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans as prescribed by the Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, gait training, and modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold therapy).
• Monitor patient progress and communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding any changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Accurately document patient care activities in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies.
• Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the clinic.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing PTA, including demonstrated teaching responsibilities and evidence of continued education.
• A graduate of an approved school for Physical Therapist Assistants or equivalent by the licensing board.
• Curriculum should include coursework on growth and development, gerontology, and therapeutic procedures for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Current State of California Physical Therapist Assistant licensure required (LIC PTA).
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Fire Safety cards required within 90 days of start date.

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
