To qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements below. Experience includes paid, unpaid, volunteer work, and service programs. Your resume must clearly describe relevant experience; transcripts are required if qualifying through education.
Basic Requirement for Physical Therapy Assistant:
Specialized Experience: One year of experience implementing physical therapy treatment plans, instructing on physical therapy programs, or providing status reports (typical of work at the GS-05 level).
OR
Education: Graduate level education (at least 9 semester hours) in a related field such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Kinesiotherapy, Sports Medicine, or Exercise Science.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience can qualify if the combined percentage meets or exceeds 100%.
Additional Qualification: Must hold a current, active, valid, and unrestricted license or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, or territory.
