Basic Accountability Statement:

Works under the direction of the Physical Therapists. The Physical Therapy Assistant administers all forms of physical therapy as prescribed by the physician and instructed by the Physical Therapist. Assists in administrative tasks and performs related duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment by following Kare Partners policies.
2. Provide skilled physical therapy care to patients with impairments or disabilities resulting from injury, disease, or other causes.
3. Record daily clinical and progress notes, ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and universal guidelines.
4. Assist in coordinating patient care activities for high-quality service.
5. Administer physical therapy procedures including electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, traction, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
6. Evaluate and record muscle strength, joint measurements, and activities of daily living to develop and review treatment plans.
7. Instruct patients and relatives in home programs to promote independence.
8. Document patient progress and report significant changes to physicians.
9. Demonstrate professionalism, customer service, teamwork, and confidentiality.

Education:

Graduation from an accredited therapy assistant program.

Experience:

Registration or certification as required by the state. Must be licensed as a PTA.

Additional skills include excellent communication, organizational abilities, and the capacity to treat a diverse patient population.

Pay: $32 - $34 per hour.
