Job Summary

At Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. As a PTA, you will work closely with our physical therapists and nursing staff to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to our residents, improving their mobility, strength, and overall quality of life. This is a full-time position with flexibility in scheduling and opportunities to work on an as-needed basis.

About The Role

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus, you will have the opportunity to work in a clinical healthcare environment, providing hands‑on therapy and support to our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Patient Care: Assist physical therapists in implementing and modifying treatment plans based on patients’ needs and progress, providing hands‑on therapy, and reporting any changes in patients’ conditions.
• Assessment & Documentation: Collect and document patient data, including progress notes, treatment outcomes, and responses to therapy.
• Education & Support: Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and strategies for enhancing functional independence.
• Equipment Management: Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist patients with the use of therapeutic devices and aids.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Compliance & Safety: Adhere to facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a clean and safe therapy environment.

Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have:

• An Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Nebraska.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements
