Job summary

Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our skilled nursing facility team. As a PTA, you will work closely with physical therapists and nursing staff to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to residents, improving mobility, strength, and quality of life.

This is a full-time and part-time position with scheduling flexibility and opportunities to work on an as-needed basis, requiring an Associate’s degree and Nebraska PTA licensure.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current Nebraska PTA licensure or certification.
• Previous SNF or rehab experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing and modifying treatment plans based on patients’ needs and progress, providing hands-on therapy and reporting any changes in patients’ conditions.
• Collect and document patient data, including progress notes and treatment outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and strategies for functional independence.
• Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist patients with devices and aids.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
• Adhere to facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a clean and safe therapy environment.

About the Role

Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have:

• An Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.

• Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Nebraska.

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
