Job summary

Oak Hill Manor in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The PTA will document treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.

The role involves implementing and adjusting the treatment plan, recording motor function and strength, monitoring responses, and writing progress notes to keep the care team informed in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license.
• Experience in long-term care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled physical therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist.
• Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to Registered Physical Therapist.
• Implements and modifies the patient’s physical therapy plan of treatment with RPT supervision
• Measuring & recording residents motor function, strength and muscle performance
• Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies it during treatment sessions as necessary.
• Observe residents and write progress reports.
