Job summary

M2 Healthcare in New York is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to provide skilled PT services under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist in a long-term care setting. Respond to service requests, implement and modify treatment plans, monitor patient responses, document treatments and progress, and prepare clear progress notes for the team.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with residents with diverse personalities are required.

Qualifications

• Active NY PTA license in good standing
• Long-term care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist
• Respond to service requests by relaying information to the Registered Physical Therapist

Job description

PTA Duties Include:

• Provides skilled physical therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist.
• Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to Registered Physical Therapist.
• Implements and modifies the patient’s occupational therapy plan of treatment with PT supervision
• Monitors patient responses to treatments and modifies it during treatment sessions as necessary.
• Observe residents and write progress reports.
• The Physical Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.

PTA requirements include:

• Must have an active Physical Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of NY.
• Long term care experience preferred
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
