Job summary

North Lake Physical Therapy in Portland, OR is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Aide to support licensed therapists and ensure high-quality patient care. You will help with treatment sessions, transport patients, and keep treatment areas clean and organized.

This role also involves scheduling, managing electronic health records, inventory, and communicating with the care team to promote efficient, safe therapy delivery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Proficiency in patient transfer techniques and safety protocols.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy/physiology.
  • Experience with electronic health records systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Physical stamina to assist patients and handle therapy equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physical therapists during treatment sessions and therapeutic exercises
  • Safely transport and transfer patients to and from treatment areas
  • Prepare, sanitize, and maintain treatment areas and equipment
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage electronic health records
  • Monitor and maintain therapy supply inventory
  • Perform administrative tasks including answering phones and managing documentation
  • Support therapists in patient education and exercise demonstration
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control procedures
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient care delivery
