Job summary

MBI Industrial Medicine in Phoenix, AZ seeks a clinic support member to assist in patient care, perform lifts assessments, and support daily operations of a physical therapy clinic. You will assess vitals, supervise exercises, apply modalities where appropriate, handle medical charting, maintain confidentiality under HIPAA, and work with staff to ensure safe, efficient care.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, relevant training, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Advanced education or trade school certificate OR >3 months related fieldwork including anatomy, medical terminology, exercise.
• Current CPR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, including vitals assessment and supervision of exercises.
• Perform lift testing to assess safe task performance.
• Handle administrative duties such as scheduling, faxing, typing, and phone work.
• Manage confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Maintain office cleanliness, disinfect surfaces, and equipment upkeep.

Summary

Will assist in the operations of a physical therapy clinic including patient care, functional abilities testing (“lifts”), administration, confidential medical record management, and office maintenance/cleaning.

• Patient care will include assessing vitals, supervising exercises and stretching, modality application (ultrasound, ice, heat, electrical stimulation, traction), and medical charting.
• Lift testing will include the objective and unbiased assessment of a person’s ability to safely complete pre-determined tasks with proper mechanics.
• Administrative responsibilities will include patient scheduling, copying, faxing, typing/computer use, and phone work.
• Medical record management will include insuring confidentiality under HIPPA law, insurance authorizations, and filing.
• Office maintenance and cleaning will include table surface disinfecting, laundry, exercise and modality equipment care, and supply inventory and stocking.
