Job summary

Stratton Rehabilitation in Texas is seeking a dedicated PT Aide to support physical therapy care delivery by preparing treatment areas, patients, equipment and materials, and assisting under the supervision of a physical therapist.

You will assist with procedures such as heat packs and mobility exercises, educate patients on proper use of equipment, maintain a safe, confidential environment, and help track progress while adhering to HIPAA and clinic policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
• Familiarity with patient confidentiality and HIPAA basics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment areas, patients, equipment and materials for sessions under supervision.
• Assist with therapy sessions including heat packs, mobility and exercises as directed.
• Educate patients on proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and secure records and information.
• Keep the clinic environment safe and clean, complying with policies and regulations.
• Monitor patient response during sessions and document progress as required.

Job description

Supports physical therapy care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment and materials; performing procedures, under the supervision of a physical therapist.

• Prepare for upcoming therapy sessions by establishing the treatment areas based on the patient’s requirements
• Clean therapy areas and set up any necessary equipment.
• Helps treat patients by applying heat packs; paraffin dips; helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
• Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Observe the patient’s development during therapy sessions and note how they respond.
• Ensure patients are secure on therapy equipment
• Serves and protects the clinic by adhering to professional standards, clinic policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Texas standards.
• Enhances physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in a healthcare environment will be advantageous.
