Job Description
Join the Cotting School Physical Therapy department! Our collaborative team works within the structure of our Special Education school program. The PT Team Lead offers the opportunity to lead our Physical Therapy Department and collaborate with clinicians and educators. The PT Lead will also have their own caseload in addition to supervisory responsibilities.
Our clinical focus is to address the needs of our students and facilitate participation and success within an educational setting. Our team of Physical Therapists is responsible for providing individual and group interventions in settings across school programming. Our therapists have opportunities to work within a variety of modern therapeutic spaces, including a fully accessible gym, fitness center, and a separate therapy space.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Successfully manage and represent Cotting School and our mission while considering the needs of the students and the school.
Work collaboratively with school leadership in developing well-rounded policies, curriculum, and programs.
It is the responsibility of the Team Lead to understand how the department fits into the larger school community and serve as a critical point of communication between all department members and the larger school community.
Effectively establish a balance between supervising a team of clinicians and managing your caseload.
Act as a subject matter expert in administrative planning, including equitably distributing caseloads among team members and decision making.
Work with the Clinical Team Lead to discuss positive workflow, day-to-day challenges related to the delivery of therapeutic services, and problem-solve using best practices.
The Team Lead is the primary evaluator for the members of their team and is responsible for the supervision of their clinicians, including providing positive and constructive feedback as needed that aligns with the standards set forth for all faculty and staff.
Work with the HR Director as an active participant in the hiring process for PT and/or other clinical needs
Collaborate with other team leads with a creative and can-do attitude
Clinical Responsibilities:
Provide physical therapy services to assigned students following the service delivery and goals established by the IEP
Develop and document treatment plans to meet standards of ethical practice and Medicaid in Public Schools standards
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews to educate and problem-solve with all team members
Complete daily documentation of sessions to meet standards of ethical practice and Medicaid in Public Schools standards
Support lunch as a member of the Feeding Team - supporting students in safely navigating the lunchroom and engaging in social interactions during meal time
Provide individual and/or group therapy as well as integrated services as clinically indicated
Provide consultation and work in collaboration with classroom staff
Write assigned sections of student IEPs and participate in IEP meetings
Communicate with families as needed

Job Requirements
- Skills and Qualifications:
Master's Degree or DPT
Physical Therapist Licensure in good standing
Able to manage and support fellow team members and offer productive feedback as needed, using an established performance management system
Employs a variety of strategies to resolve conflicts and supports staff members to address conflicts directly and respectfully
Encourage open dialogue among team members and the greater Cotting community
