Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks an Orientation and Mobility Specialist for the 2026-27 school year to support K-12 students with visual impairments in an onsite contract role. You will evaluate, plan, and deliver specialized instruction to promote independence and access to the curriculum.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Education, a Master’s in Special Education is preferred, and an active Washington ESA Certificate. Collaboration with teachers and families is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education required; Master's in Special Education preferred.
• Active Washington ESA Certificate as Orientation and Mobility Instructor.
• Experience with school-based orientation and mobility practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct orientation and mobility evaluations for K-12 students with visual impairments.

• Implement individualized travel training programs on campuses and in the community.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to support student goals and curriculum access.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Education required; Masters degree in Special Education is highly preferred
• Active Washington State Education Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate, endorsed as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor in Special Education
• Strong understanding of best practices in orientation and mobility, especially within a school-based setting
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment

Duties and Responsibilities:
