Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking an on-site school-based physical therapist in the greater Naperville area for a short-term leave coverage assignment. You will work with a dynamic caseload of students across grade levels, with emphasis on transition-aged young adults (20–22) to support independence and participation in school activities.

The role runs August 17 through November 4, 37.5 hours per week, with compensation ranging from $34.28 to $64.28 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Active and current Illinois Physical Therapist licensure.
  • Strong pediatric physical therapy background.
  • Experience in a school-based setting.
  • Comfortable with both younger students and transition-aged individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver educationally focused physical therapy to students with special needs.
  • Assess, develop, and implement individualized interventions and therapy plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success.
  • Document student progress and communicate with the IEP team.
  • Adapt to a diverse caseload, focusing on older students preparing for life transitions.

Step into an impactful school-based physical therapy opportunity in the greater Naperville area, focused on supporting students with varied needs during a short-term leave coverage. This onsite position allows you to work directly with a dynamic caseload, with a special emphasis on transition-aged young adults (20–22 years old), while gaining valuable experience across mixed grade levels. Your expertise will help students improve or compensate for gross motor deficits, promote independence, and enhance participation in the educational environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active and current Illinois Physical Therapist licensure
  • Solid foundation in pediatric physical therapy
  • Demonstrated background in a school-based setting
  • Comfortable working with both younger students and transition-aged individuals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver educationally focused physical therapy to students with special needs
  • Assess, develop, and implement individualized interventions and therapy plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success
  • Document student progress rigorously and communicate effectively with the IEP team
  • Adapt to the needs of a diverse caseload, with particular attention given to older students preparing for life transitions
