What You Will Do in This Role:

1. Assume responsibility and accountability for the care of patients treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapy techs. May be assigned to orient staff and students and assume the duties of the supervisor in their absence.
2. Assess patients’ needs; initiate appropriate physical therapy interventions; collaborate with other team members to maintain professional standards and interdisciplinary teamwork.
3. Observe and evaluate treatment effects, progress toward goals, and recommend changes to physicians if necessary.
4. Perform assessments and reassessments according to policy, ensuring accurate and timely quality improvement scoring. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics requiring medical rehabilitation services.
5. Assess and manage patient pain interfering with rehabilitation participation; implement interventions to reduce pain and consult physicians as needed.
6. Formulate and update patient-specific plans of care for physical therapy.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.
• Inpatient rehab experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
