Job summary

Inova Physical Therapy Center in McLean is seeking a full-time Outpatient Physical Therapist to join our outstanding team. This role is Monday–Friday with two late evenings until 7:00pm, emphasizing a 1:1 patient treatment model and a formal mentorship program for growth.

We offer diverse ortho services, dry needling, joint replacement rehab, sport medicine rehab, and pre-surgical rehab while supporting continued education and personal development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy is required.
• Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges on start.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required on start.
• New graduate welcome.

Responsibilities

• Documents results of evaluations in accordance with department policy.
• Completes daily progress notes reflecting responses to treatment and discharge needs.
• Completes discharge notes with summary of treatment and education.
• Documents clearly within established timeframes to support reimbursement.
• Documents evidence of patient and family/caregiver education.
• Contacts families, physicians or healthcare team to coordinate care.

Outpatient Physical Therapist Job Responsibilities

• Documents the results of evaluations clearly and completely by including all essential elements according to department policy.
• Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance, and an assessment as to status relevant to the treatment plan in addition to eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
• Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
• Documents clearly, concisely and legibly within established timeframes (e.g. allows other therapists to continue treatment, allows for interpretation by payers, supports reimbursements).
• Documents evidence of patient and family/caregiver education.
• Contacts families, physicians or other healthcare team members in anticipation of special needs of the patients or families in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment plans.

Outpatient Physical Therapist Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• Licensure: Virginia Physical Therapist License or Physical Therapist compact privileges required upon start
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
• Experience: New grad welcome
