Job summary

Mercy South Rehab Hospital in Missouri is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and create comprehensive treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients under Therapy Leadership.

You will supervise patients directly and rehabilitation staff under Mercy guidelines, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care during daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, MS in Physical Therapy, or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary license to practice Physical Therapy in the state of practice.
• BLS certification is required and must be current.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; supervise PT assistants as allowed by State Practice Acts.
• Ensure care delivery aligns with Mercy mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Mercy South Rehab Hospital - Physical Therapist - PT, Days

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Experience:
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.


• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.


• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
