Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and create individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise patients directly, guide rehabilitation technicians, and oversee PT assistants under therapy leadership.

Required are a PT license in the state, BLS certification, and an eligible degree (DPT/MS/BS). Preference for 6–12 months rehab PT experience with adults/geriatrics; tuition reimbursement

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapy license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required and must be current.
• Bachelor/Master/Doctorate in Physical Therapy as education.
• Preferred 6–12 months rehab PT experience with adult/geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients; indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.

Find your calling at Mercy!Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Education:

Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure:

Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.

Certifications:

BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Preferred Experience:

Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
