Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to conduct objective assessments and create individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. The role includes direct supervision of patients, supervision of rehab technicians, and overall PT assistant oversight, aligned with Mercy standards and mission.

Qualifications

• Current/Temporary license to practice Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certification required; certifications must be current before caring for patients independently.
• Six months to one year experience in Rehabilitation Physical Therapy preferred, with adult/geriatric patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• Provide general supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

Tuition Reimbursement
Up to $2,000/year for continuing education

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
