Job summary

Puyallup Post Acute is seeking a Physical Therapist to lead patient recovery with clinical autonomy and a collaborative rehab team in Puyallup, WA.

You will evaluate, plan, and implement treatments, educate patients and families, and help develop new rehab programs under the direction of the Rehab Director. This role offers a $4,000 sign-on bonus and competitive hourly pay of $50–$70.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Washington State or eligible.
• Experience in skilled nursing, post-acute, rehab is preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills to educate patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform PT evaluations per physician orders and payer guidelines.
• Develop treatment plans and set functional goals for patients.
• Provide hands-on PT and co-treat with OT, SLP, and nursing.
• Screen residents who could benefit from therapy services.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on progress and home strategies.
• Direct PTAs, rehab techs, and students on treatment plans.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation: evaluations, notes, progress summaries.
• Assist in developing new rehab programs with Rehab Director.
• Lead in-services to share expertise with the team.

At Puyallup Post Acute, you’ll lead recovery for patients rebuilding strength and independence after surgery, illness, or injury. You’ll have the clinical autonomy to build treatment plans that work and a rehab team that backs you up.

Pay: $50–$70 per hour, based on experience
Location: Puyallup, WA
Reports to: Facility Rehab Director

What You’ll Do

• Complete PT evaluations per physician orders and payer guidelines
• Build treatment plans and set functional goals for the best possible patient outcomes
• Provide hands-on treatment and co-treat with OT, SLP, and nursing
• Screen residents who could benefit from therapy services
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on progress and home strategies
• Give PTAs, rehab techs, and students clear direction on treatment plans
• Keep documentation timely and accurate: evals, daily notes, progress summaries
• Help develop new rehab programs and protocols with your Rehab Director
• Lead in-services to share your expertise with the team

What You’ll Need

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT or MPT)
• Current Washington State Physical Therapist license (or eligible)
• Skilled nursing, post-acute, or rehab experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and clear communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance and to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the day
• Annual TB screening and physical exam required
