Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, design individualized treatment plans, deliver evidence-based interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to achieve optimal outcomes.

You will work with a diverse patient population, rotating through areas, supervising PTAs, and participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities. New graduates welcome; training provided.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accreditation PT program approved by the APTA.
Active license in the practicing state and CPR/BLS per AHA standards.
Act 33/34/73 and FBI clearance with renewal.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive PT evaluations and treatments.
Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on progress.
Document care, outcomes, and discharge planning.
Communicate status with physicians and the healthcare team.
Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants.
Provide home exercise programs and family education.
Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
Participate in meetings, CE, and professional development.

About The Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments
Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress
Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning
Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team
Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants
Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education
Rotate through treatment areas as needed
Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development
May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents
Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
Acute care experience, preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
