Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time days role in a 60-bed inpatient rehab setting. Schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with a $10,000 signing bonus.

You will perform assessments, create plans of care, and lead PT staff while managing prosthetic/orthotic needs and patient progress. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, MO PT license, and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Missouri PT license required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition.
• Establishes a plan of care based on identified problems with patient involvement.
• Designs and carries out individualized physical therapy programs.
• Performs therapy interventions appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Directs and supervises therapy staff and support personnel; delegates tasks as needed.
• Evaluates and adjusts prosthetic/orthotic devices when needed.
• Documents goals, progress and reevaluations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is60-bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!

How You'll Contribute:

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
• Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.
• Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a dynamic Physical Therapist who is passionate about helping others and is a team player! Other requirements of the position include the following:

• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Licenses: Physical Therapist License in state of Missouri is required.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 30 days of hire
• Strong organizational and communication skills
