An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator Physical Therapist to join their team. The Program Coordinator Physical Therapist is assigned to the Physical Therapy Department within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS) at the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton, VA, a Complexity Level 1C facility. The incumbent must effectively utilize professional knowledge and demonstrate initiative, tact, resourcefulness, and good judgment in exercising authority.
Physical Therapist (Program Coordinator) duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
Basic Requirements:
Licensure: Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in the U.S. or its territories. Non-licensed PTs may be appointed temporarily as graduate PTs at GS-11 for up to two years, under supervision, with licensure required within that period.
May qualify under the Grandfathering Provision if applicable.
Knowledge of contemporary professional physical therapy practice demonstrated through active practice, completion of postgraduate fellowship/residency, or equivalent experience, which must be post-degree and directly related to the duties.
Experience: One year of progressively complex experience at GS-12 level, demonstrating specific KSAs:
Responsibilities include administrative direction, program implementation, policy development, outcome monitoring, strategic planning, and collaboration with leadership and multidisciplinary teams. The role involves overseeing clinical programs in specialized areas such as amputee, spinal cord injury, chronic pain, and clinical education.
