**Physical Therapist - Inpatient**

**Work hours:** PRN (As Needed) Not eligible for benefits
**Here’s What You Need**
Education
· Bachelor's Degree and completion of a Physical Therapy program required
Experience
· 1 year of experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred
Licenses and Certifications
· PT - Physical Therapist license in Texas upon hire required
+ BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
**What You Will Do**
· Perform age-appropriate patient assessments and establish plans of care
· Obtain and verify physician orders for therapy, ensuring appropriateness
· Review medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family
· Ensure informed consent is obtained from patients before treatment
· Evaluate patients using age and diagnosis appropriate assessments and outcome measures
· Integrate assessment results to identify functional problems and prioritize care with patient and family
· Set measurable, functional goals with timeframes, incorporating patient and family preferences
· Determine care plans and appropriate therapeutic interventions to meet goals
· Initiate discharge planning collaboratively with the care team and patient
· Demonstrate competence in age-specific patient assessments and care
· Perform treatments using techniques suitable for the patient's age and treatment goals
· Document all assessments, treatments, and progress in accordance with regulatory guidelines
· Educate patients and families on treatment plans, safety, home programs, and equipment
· Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient care
· Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuous improvement activities
· Maintain a safe, clean work environment in compliance with regulations
· Collaborate with peers and other disciplines, participating in safety drills and emergency procedures as needed
· Complete all required documentation accurately and timely, including discharge summaries and outcome measures
· Report incidents, injuries, and equipment malfunctions appropriately
· Engage in ongoing professional development and cross-training opportunities
