Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO, seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to assess and formulate individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. The role includes direct supervision of patients and supervision of rehabilitation technicians in a team-based care model.

The position requires a PT degree (DPT/MS/BS with licensure in MO) and BLS certification, with 6–12 months of preferred experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary license to practice Physical Therapy in state of Missouri.
• BLS certification required and current.
• Six months to one year of Rehabilitation Physical Therapist experience preferred.
• Experience with adult and geriatric patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; general supervision of PT assistants per State Practice Acts.
• Work in alignment with Mercy Service Standards and Therapy Leadership policies and procedures.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Mercy Hospital Southeast (Cape Girardeau, MO) Shift: PRN, Varies/Rotating

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.

• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
