Job description

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral and standards of treatment, performs objective assessments and comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians, and general supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities consistent with Mercy Service Standards.

Education

Bachelor's, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, or Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Licensure

Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in the state of practice.

Experience

Preferred: Six months to one year of experience as a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist, with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Certifications

BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before being assigned to care for patients independently.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
