Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville, TN is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. You will perform initial and ongoing assessments, establish care plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies to restore function and reduce pain, while supervising PT aides and students as needed.

Applicants must hold a Tennessee Physical Therapist license, have a Bachelor's degree, and obtain BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and Tennessee PT license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in Tennessee with active credentials.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care appropriate to problems identified.
• Plans and carries out individualized programs of physical treatment.
• Directs and supervises PT assistants and students.
• Administers physical therapy modalities and equipment.
• Documents goals, progress and reevaluations.

Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital is a 40- bed inpatient acute care rehabilitation hospital located in Nashville, Tennessee.

How you'll contribute

A Physical Therapist (PT) who excels in this role:

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel.
• Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
• Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
• Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Physical Therapist License in Tennessee in addition to:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
• Licenses: Physical Therapist License in state of Tennessee
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 30 days of hire
