Job summary

Southern TN Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team on a PRN schedule. You will assess patients, develop plans of care, and apply evidence-based physical therapy techniques to restore function and alleviate pain.

This role directs support staff, uses standard modalities, and collaborates with the Lifepoint network to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in our Lawrenceburg facility.

Qualifications

• Current and active Physical Therapist license in the State of Tennessee.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current and active Physical Therapist license in the State of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain or restore function.
• Performs therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques and skills.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel; assesses competence and delegates tasks.
• Administers treatment involving physical agents and equipment (moist packs, UV/IR lamps, ultrasound).
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modifications.
• Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and reevaluation plans.

How You'll Contribute

A Physical Therapist who excels in this role:

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.
• Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.
• Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.

STRHS-Lawrenceburg, formerly Crockett Hospital, is a 99-bed, acute care facility located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, 85 miles south of Nashville. We have been providing the best healthcare in Lawrence County and surrounding counties in Southern Middle Tennessee since 1974. We expanded the facility and services in 1991 with the addition of an Outpatient Surgery Unit, a state-of-the-art 24-hour physician-staffed Emergency Department, and an Intensive Care Unit. The hospital opened a 10-bed Physical Rehabilitation Unit in 1997, and a Women's Health Center in 1999. Diagnostic imaging services include in-house MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, X-ray, Digital Mammography and Ultrasound. The Rehabilitation Unit provides Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies. In 2009, a $5.6 million construction was completed which expanded the Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery Unit and Registration area.
