Job summary

Mercy Health in Joplin, MO is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist (PRN) to assess adults and geriatric patients and develop individualized treatment plans. You will supervise patients directly and oversee rehabilitation technicians and PT assistants in line with state practice acts, while upholding Mercy’s mission and service standards.

Candidates must have a PT degree (Bachelors, MS, or DPT), a current license in the state, and an active BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, MS in PT, or DPT required.
• Current/temporary PT license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required and current.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment programs.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and supervise rehabilitation technicians.
• Supervise PT assistants in accordance with state practice acts.
• Align work with Mercy mission and service standards.

Job description

Find your calling at Mercy!Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

• Education: Bachelor's, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in the state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Other

• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year of experience is preferred for a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
