Job summary

The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health, part of Universal Health Services, is hiring a Physical Therapist to join our team of dedicated professionals. You will assess and treat patients with psychiatric conditions, using evidence-based therapeutic exercises and modalities to improve mobility and reduce pain.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other specialists to ensure integrated care, accurate documentation, and smooth discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree required.
• 0–1 year of experience required; 3–5 years preferred; psychiatric patient care experience preferred.
• CPR certification prior to independent assignment; Aggressive Behavior Training before orientation.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy to improve mobility and relieve pain.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers to ensure integrated care.
• Maintain accurate patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes for billing and documentation.

The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is a 156-bed private behavioral health system located on 13 acres in the Greenville, South Carolina Area. Specializing in psychiatric programs and substance abuse treatments such as detox and rehab, the Center serves Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and areas throughout South Carolina and western North Carolina. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

To provide individual patient consultation and assessment as ordered by physician for referrals such as nursing home and assisted living facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Collaborate and work with other healthcare professionals (Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers) to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for patients.
• Maintain accurate records of patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes for billing and documentation requirements.
• Assist with consultation and evaluation as needed for discharge planning and referrals to SNF, ALF or other levels of care.

Qualifications

Requirements

Education: Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree required.

Experience: Zero- one (0-1) year of experience required. Three - five (3-5) years of related experience preferred. Experience with psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion Management Aggressive Behavior Training (HWC) before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting with restraining procedures. Successful certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association for CPR prior to taking an independent patient assignment.

Work Hours

Day shift Monday- Friday May be asked to work overtime and flexible hours.
