Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to perform comprehensive evaluations and deliver evidence-based treatment for inpatients. You will create personalized plans, administer therapies, and educate patients on home exercises, while coordinating with physicians and the care team.

You should be a graduate of an accredited PT program with a NC license and BLS; hospital/ortho experience is preferred, and the role supports ongoing quality improvement and patient

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Current North Carolina Physical Therapist License; BLS required.
• Hospital, orthopedic or rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, documentation and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations including strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration and motor function.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Administer therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and modalities.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Educate patients on home exercise programs and assistive devices.
• Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety activities.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Inpatient Services, the Physical Therapist will provide physical therapy evaluation, treatment, education and discharge planning in accordance with physician orders and professional standards.

Essential Job Functions
