Job summary

Select Medical's Regency Hospital in Portage, IN seeks a Physical Therapist (PT) for a per diem/part-time role. You will perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, set goals, develop treatment plans, and supervise PT/PTA staff as needed.

The position emphasizes compassionate patient care, teamwork with a multidisciplinary staff, and ongoing professional development through orientation and education programs.

Qualifications

  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.
  • BLS certification or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Teach and counsel patients/families.
  • Set goals and develop treatment plans.
  • Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
  • Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as supervising PT and PTA students.
  • Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
  • Monitor patient's response to treatment and modify treatment during sessions, as needed.
  • Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
