Job summary

Regency Hospital in Portage, IN is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a Per Diem position. The team delivers inpatient rehabilitation as part of our post-ICU program for chronically ill patients, with PTAs playing a central role in compassionate, excellent care.

The PTA will assist with therapy services, implement PT goals, and help with strengthening, balance and functional activities, including locomotion training with assistive devices.

Qualifications

• Valid state PTA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of physical therapy services including transportation, therapeutic exercises and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the PT.
• Assist the PT in carrying out interventions to meet long-term goals including strengthening, balance and gait training.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics or assistive devices.
